The Auckland Festival Trust is the organiser of Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival.

3.1 Information for customers  

3.1.1 Collection of your personal information 

When you purchase your tickets to an event run by The Auckland Festival Trust, in person, over the phone or online from third parties such as ticketing agencies (for example, Ticketmaster) or our hired venues, they collect your personal information, including your: 

  • Identity including your name, marital status, title, date of birth and gender 
  • Contact details including your address, email address and telephone numbers 
  • Financial details including bank account and payment card details 
  • Transaction details including details about payments to and from you and other details of services you have requested 
  • Profile information including requests made by you, your feedback and survey responses 
  • Usage information including information about how you use our website, facilities and services. 

The terms of the third parties’ privacy policies apply to their collection, holding, use, and disclosure of your personal information. Those policies can usually be found on their websites. 

Unless you tell them otherwise, the third parties will share your name, contact details and other personal information with us. Our privacy policy applies to our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information, once it is disclosed to us by the third party. 

Please note: The Auckland Festival Trust is not given your credit card details by our ticketing agencies or our hired venues. 

We also collect your personal information as follows: 

  • If you have registered to receive communication from us in the form of posted communications like brochures. 
  • If you have registered to receive electronic newsletters and Festival updates. 
  • If you have participated in a competition 
  • If you have registered for a Festival masterclass, free event, or for community participation in an event. 

3.1.2 Use of your personal information 

Our ticketing agencies and hired venues use your personal information in order to deliver your ticket, process your payment arrangements, contact you in the case of cancellation or major disruption of an event and replace lost tickets. 

In general, the purposes for which we collect and use your personal information include: 

  • Placing you on mailing lists either electronically or postal; 
  • To inform you of activities, events and products that may be of interest to you, including festival news or upcoming events; 
  • To conduct market research including by third party research service providers 
  • Submitting entries to events or competitions; 
  • To assist with enquiries you may have about the festival; 
  • To maintain our business records; 
  • To seek donations or sponsorship; 
  • To carry out transactions with you, such as to process payments and donations received by you; and 
  • Any purpose that you would otherwise reasonably expect. 

At any time, you may choose not to receive marketing material from us. On all of our direct marketing material, there is a notice providing you with the opportunity to “opt out” of receiving any further material.
